What is E-rate?

The Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund, commonly known as "E-rate," is administered under the direction of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and provides discounts to assist most schools and libraries in the United States to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access. The types of technology projects funded by E-rate typically include telecommunications services, Internet access, internal connections, and basic maintenance of internal connections. Eligible schools, school districts and libraries may apply individually or as part of a consortium.

The program can seem to be a daunting task and positive results are difficult to achieve even though their flowchart seems simple and straight forward. A comprehensive understanding of the process administered by Universal Services Administrative Company (USAC) is the first requirement. Record keeping and communication skills are in your favor. Patience is needed throughout the process.

Please see our associates at http://e-rate.us. They offer consulting services to assist you in obtaining your deserved services from the program. They are strictly fee for service and do not accept E-Rate Service Providers as clients.
